Support Structures

In the corner of a large gallery, a woven rope sculpture extends from a chair. The sculpture is attached to the ceiling and walls, resembling lines and forms of a crudely woven web. The artist, a small white woman with short black hair and a black jumpsuit, sit cross-legged in the chair.

More collabos with artists bodies and the sea.
What an honour and a joy to have participated as Singö’s resident artist for #havetsomomgeross (the sea that surrounds us).
Looking forward to Screening first of a series of Visual Essays for How the Sea Softens TODAY June 18 11:00-3:00 at Singö Bygdegården (visual essays will be posted later online if you can’t make it to Singö in person). The screening will also be an opportunity for locals to drop by, learn about the project, and contribute their own materials: stories, stones, used cotton clothing, for the growing soft-rock installation. How the sea softens asks: What does it feel like to be with the sea? How do we feel sensations of the sea in our bodies, and how might we connect our own sense of wellbeing with the wellbeing of the water that surrounds us?
Super excited to share the Art + Disability Residency’s new website! Years of work thought and dedication from a fabulous and ever-growing team are now out there for you and your eyeballs and all of the other bodymind bits to check out.
How The sea softens is a site specific installation of the exhibition havet som omger oss, taking place across 10 islands of the Swedish archipelago from June 11-august 12 2022.
Super delighted to be giving a talk on mossiness and collaboration this evening with @artsensibility by @akhanchett at supermarket art fair 6pm if you find yourself in Stockholm! Info below
ID: A concentric collage of hands holding, reaching for, and touching wound-wood (burly wavy irregular tree bits). Some in start black and white, some in tones of brown, peach, tan. At the center of the image, a tangled explosion collage of densely packed black and white root expansion swirls
Still lives with dead wood— some process documentation from my residency at a frosty Swedish winter schoolhouse warmed by 🔥collaborative sparks 🔥 Eternal thanks to #björkökonstnod and all of the artists who keep it alight!
Collaboration at its best -a shared affirmation that the urge to turn kitchen utensils into moss hats is one to pursue.
